PROCESS EVALUATION-OSSD Evaluations
First, you will begin with our education philosophy. This is the basis of our student-centered approach and strategies for evaluation. Once you understand why you are being evaluated, you will learn about the 4 dimensions of learning (KICA) for all OSSD courses. The next section explains how the structure of all individual and course evaluations are based around KICA. In the end, the most important part about evaluations is the feedback that directly links to your learning. The last we will elaborate on how to understand and apply feedback to prepare for evaluations.
As part of the learning, you will complete many tasks. These can come in the form of presentations, conferences, quizzes, assignments, tests, etc. Each of these will gradually build on your skills through progressively more challenging tasks. The aim of this evaluation strategy is to help you practice new and existing skills in various and multiple formats.

SNC2D Science, Grade 10, (Academic)
This course enables students to enhance their understanding of concepts in biology, chemistry, earth and space science, and physics, and of the interrelationships between science, technology, society, and the environment. Students are also given opportunities to further develop their scientific investigation skills. Students will plan and conduct investigations and develop their understanding of scientific theories related to the connections between cells and systems in animals and plants; chemical reactions, with a particular focus on acid–base reactions; forces that affect climate and climate change; and the interaction of light and matter.

Designing Your Future, Open (GWL3O)
This course prepares students to make successful transitions to postsecondary destinations as they investigate specific postsecondary options based on their skills, interests, and personal characteristics. Students will explore the realities and opportunities of the workplace and examine factors that affect success, while refining their job- search and employability skills. Students will develop their portfolios with a focus on their targeted destination and develop an action plan for future success.

BOH4M Business Leadership: Management Fundamentals, Grade 12, (University/College Preparation)
This course focuses on the development of leadership skills used in managing a successful business. Students will analyse the role of a leader in business, with a focus on decision making, management of group dynamics, workplace stress and conflict, motivation of employees, and planning. Effective business communication skills, ethics, and social responsibility are also emphasized.
ESL Course >>
The ESL program in Diponte Academy offers 5 levels of English courses for all limited-English proficient students. In addition, support services are provided to all classroom teachers. Students are placed in the ESL program based upon their performance on an English language proficiency test of listening, speaking, reading, and writing, upon their academic achievement and other formal and informal measures. Depending upon the grade level and ability level of the individual students, ESL services are provided to meet specific needs. A combination of strategies is used to teach English: whole language, phonics, oral language skills, cooperative learning, and integrated reading. Emphasis is placed upon the development of the four communication skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing.
